05. “Your New Love Letter”
Al-salam 'alaykum, Shaikh Muhammed Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.),
Bismillahirahmanirahim.
As per your instructions your child is beginning this by invoking the One. Namaste my Shaikh. May the peace of God be upon you, all of your flock, and our family. This child wants to thank you for having me as one of your children.
My Love you. When we began talking this child had asked you if he should do the dhikr the way he had originally learned it from his first Guru Norman Paulsen.
Your reply was to go with what God is saying today vs what he said yesterday. This child continued to do dhikr, or kriya as he had learned. Since then your child has changed to the way our Bawa taught it for a number of reasons now exhaling upwards from the bottom chakra to the top and inhaling from the top to the bottom.
There were many reasons for this.
1. This Child wholeheartedly believes that our Bawa was the Babaji that instructed Lahiri Mahasaya in his dhikr or kriya. Bawa said he was the first singer of the vedas, this would mean he was Shiva/Adam, and this is who Babaji is supposed to be. Babaji is supposed to be the supreme enlightened being. Bawaji was the supreme enlightened being. Bawa was made the head of a heavenly council and Baba was said to be the head of this council.
Finally Bawa left the body in 1986 and it was revealed to me and a few others long ago that Baba left the body in 1986 as well. This child believes it was after this connection that he saw Bawa in a dream for the first time. This would make Bawa the head of this child's original order. It is taught that if one above our Guru gives instructions we are to follow that.
2. This child was not taught to use the kalimah originally with kriya. We used Aum, Hum, I am that I am, or even numbers and colors with our kriya. This Child believed these were names of God originally, and perhaps our Bawa has said Om is, but this one cannot recall that, nor does he think it is important. He thinks that sitting in the still silence at the end of kriya was perhaps a way to make up for not using the kalimah since the silence is the self and the kalimah.
3. You yourself have since sent instructions like that of our Bawa's to do the dhikr with the exhale going up and the inhale going down. Also Lahiri Mahasaya had told his children to not do kriya during thunder. This child was not told this and practiced the dhikr, along with chi kung, on a plane during a thunderstorm, and energy became trapped in the head. It felt comparable to a kidney stone being passed. Perhaps it was this child's foolishness that is to blame mixing chi kung in. This Child certainly blames no one, but himself. However Bawa has said one can do the dhikr and if done correctly one will be protected from lighting. Hadith also says the kalimah protects one from lightning. This seems to be an advantage over the other way of doing dhikr/kriya. Is it?
